The Miracle League of Central Illinois provides opportunities for children and
adults with disabilities to experience the joy and benefits which come from
playing our national pastime-BASEBALL! Miracle League offers a unique and
memorable opportunity.

The Miracle League is a place where every player has the opportunity to hit
the ball, run the bases and win every time they step on the field. Players
who need help with hitting, catching and throwing the ball are paired with a
“buddy” who helps out.

The season is split into two halves to avoid the hottest part of the summer.
Players are assigned to a team with a coach provided. Game schedules and
team information is emailed out leading up to the season. The season is set
at 12 games total.

This program features assigned teams, a coach hired for each team, scheduled practices twice a week and game on Saturday. This class is a babysitting preparation program designed for boys and girls. Safe Sitter is a positive experience for each participant. Topics include babysitting as a business, success on the job, childcare essentials, safety for the sitter, injury management, preventing problem behavior and care of choking infant and child. Gondolas, chips and drinks will be served for lunch. The fee includes course materials and lunch.

The Before School Recreation Program is offered at eight local Unit 5 elementary school sites. The program runs from 6:45-7:30 am. The program is designed to provide students with recreational, educational, and social opportunities in a safe environment. Students may participate in recreation activities, games, and crafts.
